This is the call of the simit vendor, walking down my street in Kadıköy in the morning. He carries a tray of them on his head. Simit is a round bread product, sort of like a cross between a bagel and a soft pretzel, and covered in sesame seeds. You can get simit practically everywhere in Istanbul.
More live music from a Kadıköy restaurant, as heard in the street. This is part of a taksim (improvisation) performed on a kanun. Once again, the street is a noisy environment for music, and this recording suffers from the additional noise of a futbol game that was being watched on many screens by many fans in many nearby restaurants.
